Clear comprehensive overview of IFC compliant software -
New database launched by buildingSMART

A database of software applications that are compatible with the IFC standard went live on the buildingSMART website and will provide a single resource for users. The database contains IFC compatible applications for the whole range of design and construction disciplines, including architectural, structural, building services, FM and model viewing and underlines how broad IFC support now is.

While this database is based on vendors' information, it also contains information about the status of buildingSMART certification for each software application. A new certification scheme run by buildingSMART to check that vendor products meet the IFC standard was relaunched in 2010 in a more stringent form. Already 20 application participate today and will make a difference in providing a certified quality.
